If I was a fan I would be completely annoyed but fortunately I am not a fan. Just an adult with a huge inner child who's read a few books and watched all the films.
I mean how on earth can you end an epic like that with that almost fully grown shot of Harry? It just is not right. In fact I expected a more amazing ending. The book was absolutely awesome and action packed and the film does not come even the third of the way near it.
In fact on my way to work this morning I was thinking that I might be finally ready to purchase a complete set of Harry Potter books to read over that vacation that will never happen. I can just imagine the facesbof my bibliophile friends cringing in agony over the last statement but this is how it works. I am honest even to my own detriment. To do me justice I would like to add: maintaining the inner child's happiness is a good thing it turns you into a better adult!
So here I am wondering how to get all the books and then read them to undo the damagr of a really bad film. Maybe that is what they intended to re-boost the book sales?
What's wrong with reading Harry Potter? I read the first 3 (the others were too long for my reading tastes - though I might get through number 4 one day).
ReplyDeleteDon't be put off by literary snobs. Tania read 8 books this Summer: Uglies and Pretties (she didn't read the next two because she didn't like Pretties, althoguh she liked Uglies); The Darkest Powers Trilogy; The Gathering; Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover; fais un voeu; and Pretty Little Liars.
Sofia (and my dad's) comment was, "Doesn't she read any real books?"
I don't know, they looked like real books to me.
